Invasive Weeds in Rock Art Country

This area is one of the most amazing rock art havens on the Los Padres National Forest. The giant sandstone monoliths lining the canyon walls with beautiful, wind-swept trees growing out of inhospitable crannies are peppered with rock art throughout.
At 5,000 feet, we are working on an acre patch of invasive knapweed, removing flowers and any potential for this year’s seeds, until more permanent methods can be employed.
We’ll camp overnight in this amazing location and enjoy a gourmet community feast. On Sunday, we’ll continue our work in the morning, and gawk at rock art in compliance with conservation protocols. This area is about 2.5 hours from Los Angeles, but the pleasure will be all yours.
