La Jolla Valley Trail Maintenance

Join Santa Monica Mountains Trails Council on March 13th, 14th, and 15th at Pt Mugu State Park for Trail Maintenance and camp of La Jolla Valley. 

8:30AM We will work from a spike camp at the La Jolla Valley walk-in camp. Camping is optional. For campers we will carpool in at 8:30 on Friday. Transportation will be provided for those working Saturday or for camping Saturday night. Camp will break at noon on Sunday. Bring your own food and beverages. Gas BBQ and water for cleaning and showering (shower tent) will be provided. Pit toilet

Before You Go

Most trail work is on Saturdays and we usually start work at 8:30AM. Be punctual.

Sometimes we may hike a mile or two to the work site. 

We generally work until 2:30 with some variation (rain, heat or we run out of work)

View the Calendar and select a time and place where you would like to work.

Call the Leader listed for the date you selected to let him/her know you are coming.

Watch the Training and Safety Video and follow the instructions.

Bring water and lunch.

Wear sturdy shoes or boots, long pants, work gloves, hat, long sleeve shirt and eye protection.
