Backbone Trail, Trail Maintenance- SMMTC

Join Santa Monica Mountains Trails Council on December 14th at Will Rogers State Park for Trail Maintenance of Backbone Trail!

Routine trail maintenance. The work will involve mostly brushing with the goal to reach the Lone Oak tree. Meet at Will Rogers State Historic Park. We’ll shuttle up to the beginning of the Backbone trail near the trail kiosk. Details to follow later.

Before You Go

Most trail work is on Saturdays and we usually start work at 8:30AM. Be punctual.

Sometimes we may hike a mile or two to the work site. 

We generally work until 2:30 with some variation (rain, heat or we run out of work)

View the Calendar and select a time and place where you would like to work.

Call the Leader listed for the date you selected to let him/her know you are coming.

Bring water and lunch.

Wear sturdy shoes or boots, long pants, work gloves, hat, long sleeve shirt and eye protection.
