Upper Matilja Trail Maintenance

The LPFA and Ojai Ranger District will be heading to the upper reaches of the Matilija Trail for our November ’19 First Saturday trail maintenance project. Should be a lot of fun!

Plan on meeting at the Ojai Ranger Station at 7:30am on Saturday November 9 and from there carpool up Hwy 33 to Cherry Creek Road and up to to the upper Matilija trailhead near Ortega Hill. From there we’ll start working down the trail towards Maple Camp focused mainly on clearing brush and re-establishing the trail tread. If you like dirt work with great views, this this is a project you’ll want to be on.

We’ll work into the early afternoon and then head back down to Ojai with an ear-to-ear smile having spent an incredible day in the wilderness working on a radical trail. Should be great!

LPFA will provide the usual trail gear and PPE, please wear sturdy boots, long pants and sunglasses (eye protection). You’ll also want to bring any water/food you’ll need for the day.
