DESCRIPTION:Come join Mountains Restoration Trust for a morning outdoors at Juan Bautista de Anza Park! We’re working to restore the native grasslands in the west foothills. We’ll be planting native southern California plants\, like purple needlegrass and creeping wildrye and flowering perennials and shrubs. \nPlease arrive by 8:45 am and look for our group on the west side of the park. Parking is limited to street side spaces to avoid impacting parking for park visitors. Please bring a hat and a waterbottle\, and wear comfortable work clothes and sturdy closed-toed shoes. SUMMARY:Crayfish Removal Open House
DESCRIPTION:Come help us remove crayfish from your creeks and streams! Crayfish are a non-native species to California\, and they’re considered invasive because they cause quite a bit of damage to the aquatic ecosystems. They prey on native species\, reduce water quality\, and cause problems with creek bed erosion. We need your help in trapping and removing the crayfish as well as picking up trash along the stream. \nPARKING: You are free to park anywhere within reason. This is near a residential area\, so please be respectful of the folks who live there! \nOur staff will meet volunteers on the Medea Creek Trail\, which starts at the corner of Conifer Street and Parkview Drive. \nThis event is great fun for volunteers of all ages! Volunteers 12 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers under the age of 18 must bring the Parental Consent Form with a parent or guardian’s signature if the parent or guardian is not attending. \nRegistration is free\, but required. SUMMARY:Crayfish Removal Open House
DESCRIPTION:Come help us remove crayfish from Medea Creek! Crayfish are a non-native species to California\, and they’re considered invasive because they cause quite a bit of damage to the aquatic ecosystems. They prey on native species\, reduce water quality\, and cause problems with creek bed erosion. We need your help in trapping and removing the crayfish as well as picking up trash along the stream. \nThis event is great fun for volunteers of all ages! Volunteers 12 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers under the age of 18 must bring the Parental Consent Form with a parent or guardian’s signature if the parent or guardian is not attending. \nRegistration is free\, but required. Registered volunteers will receive an email confirmation with more details.

SUMMARY:Malibu Creek State Park Restoration
DESCRIPTION:Come join Mountains Restoration Trust for a morning outside as we work to restore the vegetation in Malibu Creek State Park! \nWe will be planting native trees and grasses\, as well as removing weeds and invasive plants from the area. We will be planting natives like Coast Live Oaks\, Purple Needlegrass\, California Goldenrod and Hummingbird Sage. \nYou can enter the park through the main Malibu Creek State Park entrance\, and park in the lower day use area. There will be signs to guide you in\, and MRT staff to meet you there! Bring hat\, water\, snack\, and sturdy shoes. Gloves and tools will be provided. \nGreat Fun for Kids and Families! Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian. Volunteers under the age of 18 must bring the Parental Consent Form. \nRegistration is free\, but required.
