SUMMARY:Hondo Canyon Trail Maintenance
DESCRIPTION:Join Santa Monica Mountains Trails Council on April 18th at Topanga State Park for trail maintenance of Hondo Canyon Trail. \n8:30AM Routine trail maintenance. This will be joint project with the Sierra Club Task Force working from the top of Hondo Canyon. Meet at the dirt pullout on Saddle Peak Rd about 1/2 mile east of juncture with Stunt and Schueren roads. \nLeader: Dave Edwards 805-279-3029\nLink to Map \nBefore You Go \nMost trail work is on Saturdays and we usually start work at 8:30AM. Be punctual. \nSometimes we may hike a mile or two to the work site.  \nWe generally work until 2:30 with some variation (rain\, heat or we run out of work) \nView the Calendar and select a time and place where you would like to work. \nCall the Leader listed for the date you selected to let him/her know you are coming. \nWatch the Training and Safety Video and follow the instructions. \nReview the “Know Before you Go” Page. \nReview the mini “Trail Work Guide”. \nBring water and lunch. \nWear sturdy shoes or boots\, long pants\, work gloves\, hat\, long sleeve shirt and eye protection.

SUMMARY:Earth Day 2020 Harmon Canyon
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, April 18th\, all are invited to join the Ventura Land Trust to help prepare Harmon Canyon Preserve for future public use. From removing invasive species to building new trails\, we can use your help to make Harmon Canyon the best nature preserve possible. \nVentura Land Trust is currently in the escrow for this fantastic preserve. During this process\, we would like to remind everyone that Harmon Canyon is currently CLOSED to the public. Any trespassing on the preserve could jeopardize the sale\, so please respect the process and only access the preserve during scheduled volunteer events.  In the meantime\, there is plenty of work to be done! We will be working on clearing brush to reduce fire hazards and building trails for the public to enjoy once we have our grand opening. \nPark FREE at Missionary Church\, immediately adjacent to Harmon Canyon. All volunteers should wear pants\, long sleeves\, closed-toe shoes\, and don’t forget sunscreen and a water bottle!
