SUMMARY:Malibu Springs Trail Maintenance
DESCRIPTION:Join Santa Monica Mountains Trails Council on February 22nd at Malibu Springs for Malibu Springs Trail Maintenance. \n8:30AM Routine trail maintenance. This will be a joint project with the Sierra Club Task Force. Meet at the Malibu Springs trailhead on Mulholland Hwy about 3 miles from PCH. \nLeader: John Kross 805-587-0721 \nBefore You Go \nMost trail work is on Saturdays and we usually start work at 8:30AM. Be punctual. \nSometimes we may hike a mile or two to the work site.  \nWe generally work until 2:30 with some variation (rain\, heat or we run out of work) \nView the Calendar and select a time and place where you would like to work. \nCall the Leader listed for the date you selected to let him/her know you are coming. \nWatch the Training and Safety Video and follow the instructions. \nReview the “Know Before you Go” Page. \nReview the mini “Trail Work Guide”. \nBring water and lunch. \nWear sturdy shoes or boots\, long pants\, work gloves\, hat\, long sleeve shirt and eye protection. \nLink to Map

SUMMARY:Monthly Beach Clean-up Surfrider
DESCRIPTION:For all beach cleanups\, please wear comfortable clothes\, closed toed shoes and sunscreen. All volunteers are welcome to participate and must sign a liability waiver\, but volunteers under 18 MUST have a parent or guardian present at the beginning of the cleanup to sign a liability waiver before the minor can participate. Pre-registration is NOT required unless your group is larger than 25 people (if it is\, then email beachcleanups@ventura.surfrider.org ) We will provide all supplies\, but volunteers are always welcome to bring their own work gloves\, trash bag/bucket\, and/or reusable water bottle to reduce waste. Please be prepared to fill out a data card of all the trash you pick up—we need this information to help find the sources of trash on our beaches!! Thank you for your interest in helping keep our beaches clean. \nMeet on the beach promenade at the end of California Street. \n
