Be punctual. \nSometimes we may hike a mile or two to the work site.  \nWe generally work until 2:30 with some variation (rain\, heat or we run out of work) \nView the Calendar and select a time and place where you would like to work. \nCall the Leader listed for the date you selected to let him/her know you are coming. \nWatch the Training and Safety Video and follow the instructions. \nReview the “Know Before you Go” Page. \nReview the mini “Trail Work Guide”. \nBring water and lunch. \nWear sturdy shoes or boots\, long pants\, work gloves\, hat\, long sleeve shirt and eye protection. \nLink to Map

Park either across from the entrance on Angler or if there is not room\, park in the lot on the right side of Spinnaker past the Ventura Boat Yard and meet at the gate. Note: Take care in crossing Spinnaker due to the blind curve

SUMMARY:CSUCI Campus Biodiversity BioBlitz
DESCRIPTION:BE A PART OF A CAMPUS-WIDE EVENT INVOLVING SPECIES IDENTIFICATION! \nThe BioBlitz is a new form of citizen science that has emerged in recent years. This type of ecological survey’s cost-effective and quick form of data collection make it an easy way to survey a given area’s biodiversity. Since the inception of California State University Channel Islands in 2002\, no formal ecological survey of the campus’s biodiversity has been conducted. The goal of this project was to conduct an all-inclusive survey for the local and CSUCI communities to exhibit the significance of both biodiversity and citizen science. For the designated biodiversity\, we surveyed three different biome types: edge\, campus\, and native. Within these zones\, we performed ecological surveys on and around the CSUCI campus. SUMMARY:River Restoration and Trash Cleanup at Willoughby Preserve
DESCRIPTION:In February\, we need your help chopping\, pulling\, and lopping non-native\, invasive plant species that are wreaking havoc on our native riparian ecosystem at Willoughby Preserve! Additionally\, we will be cleaning up trash across the preserve. Willoughby Preserve has come a long way over the years\, but it’s up to us to keep it trash free and chalk full of native plants. \n\n\nRiver Restoration events are a part of VLT’s ongoing efforts to bring the Ventura River back to its natural state and make it more welcoming to human and wildlife visitors alike. Please wear pants\, long sleeves\, closed-toe shoes\, and don’t forget sunscreen and water.
