DESCRIPTION:The City of Ventura Environmental Sustainability Division is seeking volunteers at the Community Cleanup Event!\nVolunteers\, 15 years and up\, will assist residents with unloading\, sorting\, and disposing of household items\, so they must be able to lift up to 40lbs.\nCommunity service hours are available and lunch will be provided afterwards. Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing\, closed-toed shoes\, and sunblock.\nBefore participating in this event\, you must complete and sign the required document.

SUMMARY:Calabasas Blue Habitat Restoration
DESCRIPTION:Come join Mountains Restoration Trust for a morning outdoors at Juan Bautista de Anza Park! We’re working to restore the native grasslands in the west foothills. We’ll be planting native southern California plants\, like purple needlegrass and creeping wildrye and flowering perennials and shrubs. \nPlease arrive by 8:45 am and look for our group on the west side of the park. Parking is limited to street side spaces to avoid impacting parking for park visitors. Please bring a hat and a waterbottle\, and wear comfortable work clothes and sturdy closed-toed shoes. Gloves and tools will be provided for you. \nVolunteers under the age of 18 must bring the Parental Consent Form. \nRegistration is FREE but is required!

DESCRIPTION:“There is work that is isolating\, harsh\, destructive\, specialized or trivialized into meaninglessness. And there is work that is restorative\, convivial\, dignified and dignifying\, and pleasing.”  -Wendell Berry \nFarming an acre with volunteers is no small feat. Many hands are needed\, and we welcome yours. We invite you to come dig\, weed\, learn\, teach\, ask questions\, take a shift on irrigation\, cook for our Saturday meals\, share ideas\, or donate materials or funding. You can help in whatever way you’d like. Volunteering with us is rewarding because it is tangible—you can watch it grow!—and for the simple satisfaction of working with others on something meaningful. Working in the garden is also a fun way to complete needed community service hours. \n  \n\n\nWork/Play Days\nWednesdays 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. \nSaturdays 9:00 a.m. – 1 p.m. (Lunch provided at 11:00 a.m.) \nFor more information on volunteering\, contact us at 805-616-2326.\n\n  \nIf you’d like to volunteer in the garden\, please bring a sunhat and sturdy shoes.
