SUMMARY:ESRM Lab Safety Training
DESCRIPTION:If you’d like to volunteer with ESRM or need to work in an ESRM lab this coming semester\, you are required to attend a brief safety training with Emily Welsh prior to participating in lab activities. Emily will conduct safety training every Thursday morning at 8:30 am in the tech lab (on the second floor of Sierra Hall). The training will only last about 20 minutes and will give you time to make it to class by 9am. SUMMARY:Mandatory Informational Meeting for UNIV 391 - Ecotourism and Marine Megafauna in Maui
DESCRIPTION:UNIV 392 is a 3-unit course\, open to all majors with no pre-requisites. The class will travel to the island of Maui\, Hawaii over 8 days during Winter 2019 to learn about local culture and conduct research on humpback whale behavior\, and to explore the interaction of manta rays with coral reef & reef fish communities. Following the field activities in January 2019\, students will analyze data and prepare posters/videos to communicate their findings to the wider campus community. All attendees must have health insurance during the time of the trip\, be able to lift 40 pounds\, and be in good physical condition.
