DESCRIPTION:-22 is getting his close-up. \nThe mountain lion living in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park is the subject of a new documentary called “The Cat That Changed America\,” which will be shown at 7 p.m. Mon.\, Dec. 18 in the Scherr Forum at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. \nThe screening\, followed by a Q&A\, is being presented by the City of Thousand Oaks and the office of Supervisor Linda Parks. It’s free and open to the public. \n“The Cat That Changed America” takes an in-depth look at P-22’s unique life. He was born in the Santa Monica Mountains and crossed two busy freeways\, the 405 and the 101\, before settling in Griffith Park. He is trapped there\, hemmed in by the freeways and the urban sprawl with little chance of finding a mate. \nThe documentary explores the development of a proposed wildlife crossing over the 101 Freeway at Liberty Canyon in Los Angeles. \nBeth Pratt-Bergstrom of Save LA Cougars and the National Wildlife Federation and Joel and Kian Schulman of Poison Free Malibu will conduct the Q&A after the screening. \nFor more information on the event\, call (805) 449-2787 or visit civicartsplaza.com.
