SUMMARY:Beach Clean-up w/ Surfrider
DESCRIPTION:Meet on the beach promenade at the end of California Street. For all beach cleanups\, please wear comfortable clothes\, closed toed shoes and sunscreen. All volunteers are welcome to participate and must sign a liability waiver\, but volunteers under 18 MUST have a parent or guardian present at the beginning of the cleanup to sign a liability waiver before the minor can participate. Pre-registration is NOT required unless your group is larger than 25 people (if it is\, then email beachcleanups@ventura.surfrider.org ) We will provide all supplies\, but volunteers are always welcome to bring their own work gloves\, trash bag/bucket\, and/or reusable water bottle to reduce waste. Please be prepared to fill out a data card of all the trash you pick up—we need this information to help find the sources of trash on our beaches!! DESCRIPTION:Mountains Restoration Trust is working to restore the hillsides around Headwaters Corner and Dry Canyon Creek after a massive fire in June 2016. \nCome join us for a morning outdoors! Lend a hand with our post-fire restoration efforts\, re-vegetating land after the Old Fire of June 2016. Help us control invasive plant species\, care for the plants that are starting to regrow\, and learn about the unique native annuals we are working to protect here in the Santa Monica mountains! \nThis event is fun for kids and families! Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian. DESCRIPTION:Farming an acre with volunteers is no small feat. Many hands are needed\, and we welcome yours. We invite you to come dig\, weed\, learn\, teach\, ask questions\, take a shift on irrigation\, cook for our Saturday meals\, share ideas\, or donate materials or funding. You can help in whatever way you’d like. Volunteering with us is rewarding because it is tangible—you can watch it grow!—and for the simple satisfaction of working with others on something meaningful.
